I sit and I write. It's been a while since I've updated my blog and I apologize to anyone that may have been checking my site regularly. I've been busy and well, sometimes the written record takes a backseat to life.
Friday January 27th was my birthday. I'm not known to make a fuss just because it's a funny "holiday." Everyone remembers Christmas and, my favorite, St Patrick's Day, but birthdays are sort of an anomaly. Close family members are supposed to do something like call or make you dinner but that doesn't happen regularly unless you come from a close and usually small family, or you're Jesus.
So this year being one of happiness and new beginnings I decided to do something this time. The day started off quite well with a slight hangover and my phone ringing at 7:10 in the morning. Flowers were delivered and my sister sang me happy birthday. Very nice. Then God decided he wanted to do something special and made it 60 degrees all day long. Very nice of him since it's January and that just doesn't happen.
I pranced around work all day wearing a train conductors hat and overalls and kept making jokes about being an engineer. Everyone had their own jokes but kept it polite since it was my birthday. I took off early and had lunch by myself at one of my favorite restaurants - Pierponts, and then picked up a shit load of booze and headed back to my place for a nap.
Since I was feeling extremely good I decided to don my father's cowboy hat and cowboy up for the night. Turns out my luck was with me and all my friends who could come by my house or show up at the recordBar did and we all had a good time. The night gets messy when we went to Buzzard Beach and I start wobbling like a fat chick on a supermarket mechanical horse. There was a lot of slurred words and dirty looks but I got out of there with all limbs intact and my wallet none the lighter.
Everyone said they had a good time and enjoyed the band. My favorite was when the marching band came out and played. Who gets a marching band to play at your joint birthday party? I do! Ha - still winning.
Side note. I accidentally went to the ya-ya site when I meant to go to the yahoo site and found a name generator http://www.ya-ya.com/yaya_name Turns out to be quite accurate - well it was until I just did it. My first name was Duchess Loves to Laugh. Now I'm not a Duchess but I do love to laugh. But I just did it now I'm Duchess Loves to Read. Stupid Random Name Generator.
Until next time, I'll see you at the recordBar.

What up Andre? It's your birthday, it's your birthday. Sorry for the belated birthday wishes - sounds like it was a pretty fun time. Any pictures in the works?
Haha my "ya ya" name is Empress Happy Homemaker... wow I can't wait to don my high heels & apron and go make some dinner. I'm glad you had a super outrageously awesome birthday!
